The international jazz festival “New Conversations – Vicenza Jazz”, promotes the 5th edition of the Olimpico Jazz Contest, in partnership with Comune di Vicenza, Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Vicenza, Trivellato, Brutal Agency and Musica Jazz magazine.

The contest is open to young jazz soloists from the EU.

On 13 March 2025 Roy Haynes, one of the most brilliant and virtuous drummers that have crossed the history of modern jazz (from bebop to avant-garde), would have turned 100.

This edition is therefore a tribute to the originality and creativity of a great figure in African American music.

Who can join
Drums players living in the EU, aged between 18 and 30 at the date of Aprile 7th, 2025.

Entrants cannot already be signed with a record or editorial company.

The names of the semi-finalists will be announced on this website starting from April the 28th, 2025.
